The lovely Swiss tennis player Stefanie Voegele, who reached the semifinals in Linz and Luxembourg this year, has very nicely accepted to answer some questions for this blog. The highest ranked Swiss player talks about her great end of season, her game, and what she likes to do off the court.
First of all, how did you get into tennis ?
I started tennis when I was four. My parents moved to Leuggern and we live near the tennis courts. So when they played I was with them on court and I liked it.
You had a great end of the season and you are currently at your highest singles ranking… What’s your feeling about this ?
I am happy about my season. I had some up and downs. But I take all the good things and matches out of it and try to work on the other ones.
In which compartment of your game do you think you have the most improved lately ? And which compartment(s) do you think you still need to improve ?
I am more consistent than before. And that’s also the point where I can improve a lot. I also believe more in myself than before. The points where i would like to improve are my serve, my footwork, my volleys and some other things. So enough work to do for me 😉
What do you like to do to relax in your spare time ?
I like to sleep, eat, read and meet friends.
When you’re at a tournament, who are the first players you call if you want to have dinner ?
Mandy Minella. We have a lot of fun together.
And to finish, if the Genie asks you what are your three wishes, what would they be ?
Stay healthy, do what I want in my life and have family and friends.
